Kids Ski Free/Stay Free

For each paying parent who stays at a participating lodging facility for a minimum of three days and purchases at least a three-day Lift Ticket, one child (10 years of age and under) stays for free and receives a Lift Ticket for the same number of days. (Limit: one child per parent.)

A voucher from your accommodations is required to receive the discounts at the Red River Ski Area.

Military Discounts

Active military (and retired in some cases) enjoy year-round discounts on lodging, meals, shopping, and activities around Red River.  *See insert

Fourth Day Free (winter only)

(Sunday or Monday check-in ONLY)

Guests checking into a participating lodge on Sunday or Monday for at least a four-night stay will receive that fourth night of lodging at no charge. Guests who purchase a Red River Ski Area consecutive three day: Snow Pass, equipment rental or ski/snowboard lesson, will receive the fourth day of the same item free. Blackout dates apply.

Half Price Weekends

While we're only open on the weekends until Dec. 17, you can get 1/2 off lift tickets, lessons*, and rentals.  December 3 - 5 and 9 - 11.

College Days

Talk about a deal!  You're still not finished with your Christmas Break until you've come to the mountains!  $35 lift tickets and $15 rental equipment, just for bringing your Student ID.  Come visit for fun activities, too!  Including some contests where you can fight your rival school's students, live music, great après ski fun.  See you on the slopes!

"Buy One Day, Get the Second Day Free" Lift Tickets

New Mexico residents with valid ID get the second day of skiing or snowboarding free with the purchase of a lift ticket. Must have coupon. One per person with NM ID. Valid January 1st - March 1st. Not valid Jan. 14-16, 2011.

Youth Ski and Ride Club

Youth Ski & Ride Club 
Specifically designed to introduce your children to skiing and boarding and keep them coming back for more! 
Whether your child is a first timer or a mountain skier...this is the all-day package is for them.  Our most popular and best valued package includes AM and PM lessons, lunch with supervision, equipment and lift pass.
AM and All Day club members need to be at the Youth Ski Center by 9:15, lessons start at 9:30.
PM club members' lessons begin at 1:30.
Because kids develop in their own way, Ski Club is available for ages 4 - 10 and Ride Club is available for ages 8-10.
Private Lessons are available for skiers under 4, and riders under 8.  Click here for more details.

Daycare

Li'L Buckaroos Child Care 
While you’re on the slopes, your littlest cowboy or cowgirl will be happy and comfortable in our Buckaroo Child Care Facility. Well-trained, attentive, childcare providers watch children age six months to four years while you’re skiing. We even provide lunch. Please bring all other necessary supplies for your child. The facility is open from 8am to 4:30pm daily. Reservations are recommended, please call 800-331-SNOW (7669) extension 221.

Mountain Safety

Your Responsibility Code, Read On For More Helpful Tips: 

The slopes at Red River Ski Area can be enjoying in many ways. You may see people using alpine, snowboard, telemark and other specialized ski equipment, such as that used by disabled skiers. Regardless of how you decide to enjoy the slopes, always show courtesy to others and be aware that there are elements of risk in snow sports that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. Observe the code listed below and share with other skiers and riders the responsibility for a great experience.

• Always stay in control and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
• People ahead of you have the right of way, It is your responsibility to avoid them.
• You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above.
• Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.
• Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
• Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
• Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely.

TERRAIN PARK SAFETY

 

Freestyle Terrain is becoming more popular at resorts and proper use is important. The National Ski Areas Association and Burton Snowboards have developed the “Smart Style” Freestyle Terrain Safety initiative, a cooperative effort to continue the proper use and progression of freestyle terrain at mountain resorts, while also delivering a unified message that is clear, concise, and effective.

 

The 4 main points of Smart Style include:

• Make a Plan – Every time you use freestyle terrain, make a plan for each feature you want to use. Your speed, approach and take off will directly affect your maneuver and landing.
• Look Before You Leap – Scope around the jumps first, not over them. Know your landings are clear and clear yourself out of the landing area.
• Easy Style It – Start small and work your way up. (Inverted aerials not recommended).
• Respect Gets Respect- From the lift line through the park.
